Niko Nurminen started his season in familiar
Nürburgring Nordschleife when popular VLN Championship continues last
weekend. Niko didn't need time at all to get used to MS-Racing's Seat Leon
Supercopa car while clocked good laptimes in Friday training
session.
"Seat feels a bit faster than Honda. The car is well balanced
and due to massive torque it is smooth to drive" Niko describe.
On
Saturday morning's wet qualifying session Niko made absolutely fine lap on very
slippery Nordschleife and bring clear pole position for his team in Seat Leon
Supercopa class. MS-Racing's number one Seat was listed 54th in overall out of
216 cars.
"It wasn't easy to start so wet track with unfamiliar car. I
needed to push hard right away in first lap and try to find the limits of car.
On the second lap it went even more difficult due to lot of oil on the track.
However I managed to improve my laptime and achieve important pole position"
Niko says.
Niko shared the driving stints together with Seat ace Florian
Stoll and GT-driver Kenneth Heyer. The team shew their confidence for new comer
and put Niko for first stint. Now on dry track Niko made good start and manage
to keep first place in the CUP1 class.
"Starting the race was great
experience. In the first couple of corners I need to defence my position pretty
hardly but after that it was a bit easier" Niko tells. << back to news
